The reason why companies are easily jumping in to this is because of the fact that it costs less and if you get it right the return on investment can be amazing.

No matter how BIG or small your brand is if you manage to get the right person for SEO consultancy who knows this game well, you can definitely win some great results, similarly if you find a shitty consultant who cannot think out of the box, your money is almost in the waste bin. The real game is to find the right consultant but finding it could be difficult because, the real brain in SEO or inbound marketing is a job itself.

There are actually a group of people who tried to invest in SEO and didn’t really get the desired results, these people know the power of SEO but somehow it didn’t work out for them once so in order to secure their money they come up with the term called “Pay Per Results SEO”

What is “Pay per Results SEO”?

It’s simple, you set up some success goals with your consultant and you only have to pay when the results are appearing in search engines. SEO sphere is buzzing about it and even I got some emails lately from people asking if I offer something similar to this.

Obviously, I do not offer this kind of service but at the same time I suggest other businesses not to invest in pay per results SEO as there are some major problems with this system that I am going to define later down in the post.

Here are few of the reasons why one should never get involved in Pay per results kind of SEO service.

  • SEO is no formula

This is a common misunderstanding at business end; actually SEO has no set formula, neither any set of code nor limited software similar to web design and development, instead SEO is an industry which always stays in the state of change. BIG players like Google and Bing keep on changing and updating their algorithms from time to time which affect the SERPs directly.

SEO is a process by which you build your website as per the choice of your targeted market and introduce yourself as an expert, so that you can seek their attention, inspire and convert them ultimately.

The success goals are different and complex so it’s almost impossible to set goals that go better with pay per results. Normally the companies who offer pay per results only focus on SERP a ranking, which in the modern world is pretty dumb and can even result in some kind of pitfall.

  • Question on Quality

This pay per results SEO heavily affect quality of work as people in order to meet the deadlines sometimes do the work which is against the Google guidelines and as a result the website instead of performing better in SERPs and audience, gives a red alert to Google forces like Panda and Penguin.

I have spent quite a few years as a SEO consultant with a manager over me and guess what they do the same techniques by setting some goals each month which may or may not be practically possible.

Setting goals are fine in my opinion but while setting goals you should keep every other aspect in mind and understand the continuously changing attitude of Google and other BIG search players. When you set goals and pay on basis of those results you will see the quality of work will go down because quality works takes time to perform and he probably will not get any money in that process so there is no reason why your consultant should wait for that.

  • The continuously changing state of Search Engines

This is another point which kills the effectiveness of any similar services and any results from it. The root of pay per result service is based on the fact that the consultant will only get paid on results basis, one result achieved you will get the price of it.

Whereas, in the modern world of digital marketing search engines are continuously changing and updating its algorithms for quality purposes which directly or indirectly will affect the results in SERPs against several keywords and phrases.

This raises a question that what if a consultant successfully achieved a result and gets paid for it and after a month or two some update rollout kill the results that consultant has been paid for? This is one of the interesting quality that I would love to get answered by some company who itself offer pay per result kind of SEO service.

Above mentioned are few of the reasons why pay per result SEO services contain no value and people who are investing in these kind of services usually end up having their website attacked by panda or penguin which may or may not be recoverable.

How SEO can produce greater ROI?

Everyone knows the fact that SEO is amazing when it comes to return on investment for almost every business present online. The only problem is to find the right kind of person who can do work for you and produce better ROI for your business.

Here are some of the tactics that you should apply in order to get quality consultant that works for you.

  • Cheap is REAL cheap

This is the problem with almost every business owner that they want the best performer at a below average price. The point that they really needs to understand is the fact that SEO is not cheap at all so they actually have to invest good if they need any good quality service.
